Conversion based social media posts

Anyone can make content by just turning on their camera on their phones and start filming a video…

Or put a random picture…

But, if you want to consistently create content that helps you establish your brand as an authority in your community…

As well as help you build an audience, attract new students, and make your dance studio THE place to go in your city...

Then you need to create entertaining, engaging content that is conversion oriented.

Conversion means that it’s meant to get people to your studio and convert them into students.

The way to do that is by using this 3 step formula.

3 step formula

These 3 steps are going to simplify the way that you think about creating your content.

When you master these 3 steps you will be able to consistently produce good content, that gets you new students…

So the 3 steps are…

  • Hook
  • Story
  • Offer

Let’s take a look at each step, and show you how to use them...

Step 1 - Hook

The hook is the beginning part of your content that it’s meant to GET someone STOP scrolling on social media, and instead pay attention to you…

Even if just for a few seconds, so that your content has a chance of being seen…

You see, people on social media are usually scrolling aimlessly, and casually…

They are usually there to be distracted…

And if you want that person to pay attention to your content, you need to give them a reason to do it.

Studies have shown that the human attention span is about 7-8 seconds…

Which means that whenever someone encounters your content on social media, you have 7-8 seconds to capture their attention…

So, what can you do?

You need to have a STRONG HOOK!

This is the part that you have to get creative and think of different things that you can do to get someone to stop scrolling, and give you their attention…

Here are a few examples of things that you can do to create a strong hook…

  • How to headlines
  • Curiosity driven headlines
  • Before and after headlines
  • Story headlines
  • Weird pictures
  • Funny pictures
  • Curiosity driven images
  • Starting the video with the exciting part first
  • Big promises

By no means, are these the only ways to create a strong hook…

These are just simple ideas to get you started, and so that you can understand the principle of having a strong hook.

Let’s go over each one of the examples so that you can see what I mean…

How to headlines

These types of headlines can be really powerful if you can teach something in your content that people really want to know…

For example:

  • How to get your splits in 30 days
  • How to become a better dancer by using this gadget
  • How to easily improve your pirouettes by doing this…
Curiosity driven headlines

Anything that you can do to create curiosity gets people to engage…

Examples:

  • 8 Tips to improve your dance fast… Number 7 is really funny!
  • They all laughed when I stepped out on the dance floor… But then I started to dance…
  • Hidden tricks every dancer MUST know…

You might think that it’s clickbaity to write curiosity headlines, but that’s just how the internet works…

If you are not able to raise curiosity from the people who see your content, they won’t click on it, and you won’t see any results from your efforts…

Which means that all the time and effort you put into creating your content is wasted!

Before and after headlines

People love to see transformations, and progress…

It gets people motivated!

Examples:

  • My 8 months dance journey progress…
  • My 3 year dance transformation
  • Here the results of 4 years of practice…
Story Headlines

Our brains are wired to communicate and understand ideas through narrative, which is why stories are so appealing…

So story driven headlines are really effective at getting people's attention.

For example:

  • How I became a professional dancer at 17 years old
  • How I opened up our dance studio
  • How I went from not knowing how to dance, to winning a national championship
Weird pictures

Pictures and thumbnails work really well on social media at getting people’s attention.

But, the mistake that most people make is that they think that all their pictures have to look really professional and polished…

While professional pictures work at getting attention…

Using pictures that are weird, or exaggerated whether through editing, or distortion might be worth a try too because in most cases they work way better!

The reason for that is that weird pictures create curiosity, so it hooks people in.

Funny pictures

Funny content works really well at getting attention on the internet.

Curiosity driven images

Again, if you can create curiosity, it gives you an opportunity for people to click on your content to find out more!

Starting the video with the exciting part first

Most people whenever they are creating content (video, audio, or writing) they usually put the most exciting part towards the middle or the end of the content.

But, the thing about social media is that unless you can get people to stick it out, and keep consuming your content.

You will usually get bored and go to the next thing.

Like I said at the beginning…

People are usually really distracted, so make sure that you give them a strong reason to stick around…

And, you can do that by putting the most exciting part at the beginning of the content, or at least a sneak peak of it at the beginning.

Big promises

Making big promises is another way to get people’s attention and get them to consume your content.

Now, you just have to make sure that your content fulfills on that big promise!

For example:

  • Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks with this dance routine.
  • Become a better dancer NOW with this 3 exercises

Step 2 - Story

Even though this step is called “story”, it doesn’t mean that you have to literally tell a story...

This is the part of your content where you’re going to provide information…

For example…

If you’re doing a video interview as your content, then your “story” is the interview…

Or, if your content is a tutorial, then this is the part where you explain things…

On the other hand, if your content IS a story, then this is the part where you tell that story...

Step 3 - Offer

Lastly, we have the “offer” which is the call to action at the end of your content that gets people to do something you want...

This step is often missed by most people when they create their content…

Now, while the “offer” can simply be an invitation to “like” your page, or an invitation to “follow you”...

If you want to use your dance studio social media posts to attract more students, then you need to have an offer that gets people to your studio!

You can do this by offering discounts, free classes, coupons, etc…
